About Us

Girivanvasi Educational Trust (GVET) was founded by Padmabhushan Pujya Karamshibhai Jethabhai Somaiya in 1991.

It runs the Nareshwadi Learning Centre (NLC), located on a 12 acre campus in the lush green environs of the Experimental Farm of Girivanvasi Pragati Mandal (GVPM) which Karamshibhai founded in 1974 as an Integrated Rural Development model.

Our Activities

Banana Project

Grade 7 children are working on this project & will continue until they complete grade

Moringa Project

50 hostel children (25 girls and 25 boys) of grade 8 are engaged in this project..

Henna Project

They plan to use henna for landscaping on school campus & for securing gaps in the boundary walls to curb stray cattle.

Nareshwadi Ventures

(NV) was started in 2012. Beautiful products are made from scrap wood & painted with Warli art.

School Farm & Nursery

Children from 1 st to 9 th grade are engaged for 20 hours a month learning to cultivate seasonal vegetables

School Health Centre

The 10-bed School Health Centre was started is 2007 to take care of children falling sick.

Rotary Project

The Rotary Project commenced in 2018. It is supported by the Rotary Club of Bombay Queens Necklace & the Rotary Club of College Park, USA.

NVC Workshop

Nareshwadi staff has been trained by Dr Gitta Zimmerman in Nonviolent Communication since 2010.

Activities designed

To develop children's physical hands on literacy, at Nareshwadi under Girivanvasi Educational Trust.
